Chatbase costs $40 a month on Hobby for 700 message credits, $150 a month on Standard for 4,000 credits and $500 a month on Pro for 15,000 credits, with a free plan of 50 credits a month on which inactive agents are deleted after 14 days. A credit is not a conversation: one reply costs one credit on the cheapest model and more on stronger models, so a 3-reply chat on a premium model can use 10 or more credits. What the pricing page does not make obvious
- Credits are spent per AI reply, and premium models cost several credits per reply, so the usable number of conversations is far below the credit count.
- Extra credits are sold as add-on packs when the allowance runs out mid-month.
- Shopify order lookup, product cards and discount validation are not built in; they need custom actions you configure yourself.
- The free plan deletes agents after 14 days without activity.

Chatbase is a flexible agent builder for people who want to wire their own actions, and the credit model is honest about what it is.
