Prices checked September 2026. Updated October 13, 2026. Written by Chatonbo, which sells a competing product; every figure links back to the vendor's own pricing page.
Intercom costs $29 per seat per month on Essential (billed yearly), rising to about $132 per seat on Expert, and the Fin AI agent is billed on top at about $0.99 for every conversation it resolves, with a 50-resolution monthly minimum on the standalone Fin plan. A one-person business with Fin answering 500 chats a month pays roughly $29 for the seat plus about $495 for resolutions, before any add-ons. Prices checked September 2026.
How Intercom charges

| Advanced | about $85/seat/mo | Workflows, multiple team inboxes, more channels |
| Expert | about $132/seat/mo | SLAs, advanced permissions, enterprise features |
| Fin AI agent | $0.99 per resolution | Charged for every conversation Fin resolves; 50-resolution monthly minimum on the standalone plan |
What the pricing page does not make obvious
- A resolution is counted when Fin answers and the visitor does not ask for a human, so good AI performance raises the bill.
- Lead qualification by Fin is billed as an outcome too, not only support resolutions.
- Seats are per human agent; the AI does not replace the seat fee.
- Proactive support, phone and some channels are separate add-ons.

Is Intercom worth it?
Fin is one of the strongest support agents on the market, and for a company with a support department and ticket SLAs the price is defensible. For a small business it is the most expensive option in this category by a wide margin, and the bill is impossible to forecast because it rises with every resolved chat. Chatonbo is flat: free up to 100 conversations a month, $19 for 5,000, $59 for 10,000, no per-seat, per-resolution or per-credit fees, and unused conversations roll over.
